2028 Holocaust Sites of Memory Tour for Educators
Applications Now Open
Manitoba educators, administrators, and superintendents are invited to apply for the 2028 Holocaust Sites of Memory Tour, a professional learning experience grounded in survivor‑centred, trauma‑informed Holocaust education.
This study tour brings participants to key sites of memory across Poland, Lithuania, and Germany—places where history, testimony, and remembrance converge. Through guided learning, archival engagement, and on‑site reflection, educators deepen their understanding of the Holocaust’s historical realities and its contemporary significance for classrooms, communities, and global citizenship education (sites of memory are still being considered).
Participants will:
• Engage with leading Holocaust scholarship and evidence‑based practices.
• Visit major memorial sites and museums
• Strengthen trauma‑informed and ethically responsible teaching practice
• Build networks with colleagues committed to historical accuracy, human rights education, and combating antisemitism
• Bring back classroom‑ready resources, reflections, and curricular connections for students
Educators from all districts and grade levels are encouraged to apply. Administrators and superintendents are also welcome, especially those supporting social studies, human rights, and equity‑focused learning.
Application Deadline: TBD
Tour Dates: July 2028
Eligibility: K–12 educators, education students, administrators, and superintendents.
Program Focus: Survivor‑centred learning, historical accuracy, ethical pedagogy, and professional collaboration
